Wrestling is a globally recognized sport and, as such, it is to be conducted along guidelines set internationally. These guidelines include those concerning wrestling gear. BASIC GEAR

A wrestling singlet is what you call that piece of clothing made of nylon or lycra which you use when you are in a wrestling competition. Whereby the neckline traditionally goes lower than the chest area, including the sides and back, freestyle and Greco- Roman singlets belong to the international classification. Typically, you will need two of these singlets, one red and one blue. Competitions for lower level, you may just be asked to have one piece with sides reversible, every side being one of the two standard colors. It is a requirement that you have two separate singlets, one for each color for larger competitions. You can use scholastic or collegiate uniforms which can come in any color and design, usually of team logos or mascots, and with a cut higher than international uniforms if you are competing as a representative of a school.
Shoes
Wthout the right shoes, wrestlers will normally not be allowed to get into a fight. If you are participating in a competition for the youth, you may be permitted to use regular shoes for the gym. It must to have wrestling shoes if you are joining a big event. You have to find shoes that are comfortable and those that give you maximum control. The size and fit, as well as the material, you have to consider these things. Before buying them, try them on because remember that wrestling shoes are usually larger than typical gym shoes. Shoes made of mesh is what you also need so you dont have to worry about slipping because of sweat or moisture.
Accessories
You may consider getting are a head covering, thats two of the most common accessory wrestling gear, if you have a hair that is long, and a blood rag which is any piece of cloth or handkerchief which you tuck under your singlet and pull out, in case you need to wipe off blood. To prevent distractions and discomfort, it would be good to have them for the sake of convenience but neither of the two are required.
SAFETY
To compete because wrestling is a contact sport, you're going to need safety gear. One of the most things that are important that you need to get is headgear. Headgear, from the term itself, will protect not only your skull but also your ears, nose and other parts of your head as you compete. Normally, you will not be allowed to get into a game without this. For more experienced, those with harder surfaces are required, bur for a newbie, a headgear made of soft material is perfect, although this type cannot be used in international fights. For wrestlers who are young and have dental braces on, another requirement is a mouth guard. Shoes must come with lace covers to prevent accidents from loosened shoelaces, for all players.
