They played at the Cow Palace and the Daly City for their first two seasons and were in fact the worst team in the League. They suffered 71 losses in the year 1991-92 alone.

The Sharks- Various Seasons

1993-94: Due to the large number of losses the Coach George Kinston lost his job. Soon after in the year 1993-94 the team moved to the HP Pavilion. The year was a success for them and they won eight out of nine games before they lost to the Detroit Red Wings.
1995-96: The Sharks were placed last in the Pacific Division and missed on the playoffs too. They made some important changes to improve the team’s performance. The team traded Larionov and Ozolinsh and got a new coach Jim Willey. But even thought the Sharks tickets were selling well, the team had another bad year.
1997-97: The team reached the playoffs but performed badly in the first round. Their new coach Darryl and the new goaltender Conn Smythe Trophy winner Mike Wermon could not help keep up the team’s performance either.
2003-2004: This season is considered the team’s best season ever. The highest recorded number of Sharks tickets was sold and the team went on to win the Pacific Division Championship.
2005-2006: The team again got into the playoffs but was eliminated in the second round. Some major changes like the acquisition of star players like Curtis Brown and Mike Grier took place.
