HISTORY OF ADIDAS by Adidas

Adolf Dassler produced sports shoes by his own after return from World War I. Adolf's brother Rudolf Dassler joined with his brother in business in 1924, which was named as Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory, where they made more than 200,000 pairs of shoes and made good money out of it .However the brothers had some problem between themselves and they got split in 1948. Rudi started his own company named Puma and Adi started company named Adidas. Adidas was formally named as adidas AG. 'All Day I Dream about Sports' was the tag line for Adidas. Adiadas was formed from the name Adolf Dassler. After the dismissal of Adolf Dassler his son Horst Dassler sold his company to Bernard Tapie for1.6 billion French francs. Tapie is known for rescuing the companys from bankrupt. He took over the company and brought fortune for it.

Tapie moved the production to Asia and appointed Madonna for advertisements. But tapie was not victorious; he was unable to pay his loan bank that made to sell Adidas to Cr''di Lyonnais bank. In 1993, Robert Louis-Dreyfus, a friend of Bernard Tapie bought Adidas for 2.85 billion dollars. He became the CEO of Adidas company. As he was the president of Olympique de Marseille football team promotions to the team was easy. Later, the CEO of Adidas group was Herbert Hainer, and the finance of Adidas group was Robin J. Stalker. In 1994 Tapie filed a compalined for match fixing at soccer club, which was moved and Tapie was punished with 18 months of imprisonment during 1997 in La Sante prision which is in Paris. Later Tapie was awarded 886 million francs as compensation in 2005. In 2004, English fashion designer Stella McCartney joined with Adidas, and establishing a good partnership. 'Impossible is Nothing" is the marketing slogan for Adidas. None other than Adidas has the pride standards to compete with Nike.

In 2005 Salomon Group is sold to Amer sports. The Adidas group has its full focus on making branded athletic footwear and other equipments needed for better sporting. The name has been changed to adidas AG in 2006. Adidas decided to join with Reebok in 2006 to produce world class sports goods for athletes across the world. They beleived new group will benefit widerange of sports personalitys with wide range of products. During the beginning of 2008 they launched a campaign to produce casual wears which was a great success as well. In 2007, Adidas decided to produce lacrosse equipment.Adidas has wide range of collection with different types of cushioning, soles which was the reason for the grand success of Adidas. Adidas Superstar is the wide range of shoe brand used by NBA players. They are sold in all Adidas outlets. They are welcomed for their comfort they provide. That's the reason Adidas Superstar continues to be popular amist them.
